Jacob Gould 1 Year Anniversary

January 6th marked the one year anniversary of the death of Jacob Gould. A ceremony was held Tuesday at 2:30pm to remember Jacob.  Some of Jacob’s friends, family, and classmates attended the ceremony and were able to write messages on balloons and release them into the air in memory of him. In my opinion, it was nice to see people come together to support the Goulds as they endured one of the most difficult days of their lives.

Jacob was the type of person who would always make you smile no matter what kind of day you were having. I remember in 8th grade when he found out that my brother and my father watched WWE wrestling, he started talking to me about it everyday since then, so I started watching it too. I feel very fortunate to have had such a strong connection with him and to be able to see him light up when he talked about wrestling.

Jacob was also the KHS football team’s number one fan. He attended every game and was always there on the sidelines to celebrate with the team after a win and cheer everyone up after a loss. Casey Pyle shares a memory that he had of Jacob, ¨I remember at the state game, Jacob ran into the bench with his wheelchair and swore.¨ He did this because he saw another football player do the same thing and Jacob wanted to be like him because he idolized the football players. Casey also shared, ¨It was awesome to see him in the endzone cheering us on at every game.¨
