Faculty Member of the Week!

This week’s faculty member of the week goes to someone behind the scenes who does more for our school than most people realize…

This week’s faculty member of the week goes to Mrs. Emmons! Mrs. Emmons has been our secretary in the main office for twenty years! She loves working at Kennebunk High School because she enjoys the kids and staff that she gets to work with everyday. She also said, ¨There is a positive vibe here that really works, everybody works together, and as I like to say, there is no ¨I¨ in team.¨ I asked Mrs. Cavagnaro what Mrs. Emmons does for her and she said, ¨She can always answer any question I may have, especially questions about the whereabouts of a student.¨ Mrs. Emmons is praised by faculty and students alike, and all at KHS are thankful and grateful to have such a helping hand in the Main Office.

Mrs. Emmons grew up right here in Kennebunk, Maine. Most people don’t know that she was a member of the KHS graduating class of 1975. Before working at KHS, Mrs. Emmons was a stay at home mom. Mrs. Emmons has two kids- a daughter who lives in Connecticut, and a son who lives in Oregon. She loves to visit her two-year-old grandson, Gavin, in Connecticut whenever she can. Her favorite movie is Shall We Dance? and one of her favorite books is She’s Come Undone by Wally Lamb.

Although most of Mrs. Emmons’ work is behind the scenes, it is important to recognize how helpful and compassionate she is. Mrs. Emmons is one of the most hard working members of the KHS faculty and rarely gets recognized. If you ever have a question, you can find Mrs. Emmons in the main office who will be more than willing to assist you.. (and she will most definitely know the answer!)
