ALL ABOARD! It’s that time of the night for the Love Train to come into station. I’m your conductor, Mix Master Soul Brother, here to give you a smooth ride down the tracks of loooove. So snuggle with your honey and lean in close by the fire as we launch into a journey of love aboard the Love Train and let it ride, let it ride.

I’ve been receiving calls lately from all the little brothers trying to ask their sweethearts out to the prom this month. I am dedicating this broadcast to you out there who need a little help from the master in proposing to your companion.

The first thing to remember is to be confident! Whether you’re asking out your better half or the one who has yet to complete you, you must first become the person that they deserve. Take to mind that this does not mean to change yourself to fit your ideal for that person, but to come to terms with yourself and understand that you could be that ideal simply by believing that you already are. But be warned, do not mistake yourself for an untouchable paragon, you must find the balance between humbleness and confidence, not leaning too far towards either extreme. The line between a sensitive yet firm lover and an egotistical megalomaniac is fine and can easily be tripped over. By striking a balance, so too will you find your happiness.

The second thing to know is that a relationship is a partnership, and anyone who attempts to dominate it will upset the balance and send the both of you tumbling into darkness. With this in mind, we transition into the promposal itself. The most important piece of this phase is to know your other! It’s nigh impossible to find perfection if you don’t know what you’re working with. Many people want to skip right to large displays of public affection in their proposal, and this may work in some instances, but may end disastrously in others. Ultimately, my words mean nothing to the proposer because I should not and do not know as much about their case as they do. A proposal cannot be forged in the fires of another’s passion, but must come from the heart of the proposer. This is where the balance comes in again. Find the happy medium that combines elements of you and your lover, just as your hearts have combined into one.

If you keep these pointers in mind, you’ll be sure to cement your place in your honey’s heart and make magical memories on one of the most romantic nights of your lives. And with that, sweet homies, we reach our last stop. Please form orderly lines to the exits of the
