Girls’ basketball has three captains: Gabby Fogg, Madi Lux, and Sierra Tarte, who Jessica Dupler, a sophomore, says are “very enthusiastic and determined.” Dupler stated that she thinks girls basketball will have a very successful season this year. “We have many key players with totally different strengths, which makes us a threat, and we’ve been putting in the work and effort,” says Dupler. Girls’ basketball has a team goal of staying healthy, because they cannot afford an injury on the team.

Wrestling has three captains: Cole Dickinson and Jared Dyer. As a team, their goals are to place in three tournaments. Dylan Shea states that they “have a small but skillful team,” but that they will have an obstacle this season which is “covering every weight bracket as a team.”

Swimming has four captains: Angus McLean, Olivia McLean, Renee Nichols, and Riley Small. They will “continue to be strong captains and supportive of the underclassmen,” according to Joe Bergeon. He also states that this team “definitely has a stronger boys team this year with more swimmers. With practice and a little improvement, I think we’ll hold our own at Southwesterns and have quite a few States qualifiers.” The swim team’s biggest strength is “the supportive environment that we have created. It’s critical that the team be just that, not simply a group of individuals,” says Bergeon.

Skiing has two captains: Garrett Truffant and Lydia Corcoran. “They are both amazing racers and so far have shown a lot of leadership in our practices. As a team I think we will do very well, last year those who qualified for states did great. As a team goal, I think the main aim is to do well in states because that is what we are practicing and building up to during the entire season,” says Ava Gaulkin.

Junior diver Maggie Nguyen says that this season the team will be pretty successful. “Two of us have already qualified for states after the first meet, and I’m hopeful that we will all qualify by the end of the season,” says Nguyen. She also says that the team is diverse, having both new and experienced divers.
