Winter Sport Athletes Recognized for Outstanding Performance

At the end of every sports season, the Western Maine Conference recognizes athletes who exhibit outstanding performance. The WMC consists of schools such as York, Kennebunk, Fryeburg, Cape Elizabeth, Falmouth, Yarmouth, Lake Region, etc. This winter, an impressive amount of KHS athletes were selected by the WMC for their accomplishments in the sport and in the classroom. The KHS community is well represented by our student athletes, who are talented both athletically and academically.

The Western Maine Conference awards athletes in several different ways. Athletes that play sports like basketball and hockey are selected to be on “teams”; ie First, Second, Third, etc based on solid athletic achievement throughout the season. “All Conference” selections are chosen based solely on statistics and performance from the athlete. Additional awards in honor of a famous coach or player are also given out to eligible candidates. These accolades are noteworthy in any sport, and KHS certainly stands out among WMC schools, especially this past winter.
