Ask Bunky: Testing Tips
Dear Bunky,
Tests can be really stressful, how can I calm my nerves before tests, especially midterms and finals?
Sincerely, Stressful Sam
Dear Stressful Sam,
I agree with you that tests can be a little nerve wracking, but don’t worry! There are plenty of different methods out there that can help you walk into your next test with confidence. In the days leading up to the test, make sure to take a little time each day to review your notes, read over the chapter, and rewrite some material that you know might be included on the test. By writing out information again, it’ll help it stick in your brain. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, it’s really important to utilize all of the resources that are available to you. If you’re not understanding some of the material, try to check with a friend or your teacher so they can help clear up any questions you might have. Also, don’t spend every minute leading up to your test studying! It’s important to take some time to relax and do something you enjoy. Your brain will work better if you give it a break every now and then. Finally, while it’s important to do your best on every test, it’s not a matter of life and death. Keep it in perspective, be prepared, and try not to stress too much.
Sincerely,
Bunky
