Pizza by Alex
For this weeks article, Taylor and I stopped at one of our favorite restaurants: Pizza by Alex, commonly known as Alex’s Pizza. We debated on this for awhile, as we want to keep it a secret spot for just us but we finally came to the conclusion that it was only fair we share it with others so they can enjoy it as well. While we reminisced all the good times we’ve had there both separately and together, we decided to write a review giving our very high opinion.
The people working there always make small talk with you, but are still very efficient and make sure you get your food in a timely fashion. In our opinion, their pizza beats any pizza in Kennebunk. The prices are very fair for what you get, it costs just over $7.00 to get a personal ten inch pizza with whatever toppings you want, and each bite tastes like a little piece of heaven. They put just the right amount of cheese on the pizza to make it gooey and delicious, but never too much so that it’s stringy. Their homemade tomato sauce never makes the pizza soggy and all of their toppings are fresh, including their green peppers, mushrooms, olives, spinach and much more. Recently they added their own parking lot, so that you don’t have to park somewhere else which makes eating in the restaurant itself more convenient.
Founded on February 18th, 1960, the business has been owned by the Mantis family and passed down from generation to generation. The people working there always make small talk with you, but are still very efficient and make sure you get your food in a timely fashion. People have come from all over the U.S. and even Canada, and swear it’s the best pizza they’ve ever eaten. As soon as you enter the restaurant you’re immediately drawn in by it’s old fashioned charm. Exposed wood panel walls and brick floors in the kitchen make this place feel very homey and welcoming. If you ever find yourself in Biddeford and you’re in the mood for pizza, there’s no better place to go than Pizza by Alex.
