Swim Season 19-20
This past swim season was very successful for both the boys and girls swim teams. School records were broken and trophies were won.
Starting off with girls’ South Westerns: The girls’ team won for the sixth consecutive year. The school record for the 200 free event was broken by team captain Ella Yentsch who was also named Outstanding Performer of the meet for the 2nd consecutive year. Ella also placed first in the 500 free event and in the 400 free relay with Chloe Matthews, Annalise Cowing, and team captain Grace Girad. In fact, they broke the school record in this relay. The girls had an extremely successful year at States taking home the first States’ win for Kennebunk ever and received a police escort from the meet back to the high school.
Moving on to the boys South Westerns: The boys’ team won for their 2nd consecutive year. Diver Aiden Ward won the diving events. Team captain Zach Matthews was named Outstanding Performer of the meet and proceeded to place first in the 100 and 200 free events. Team captain Toby Macedo placed first in the 100 back and 200 IM events and Zach Matthews, Toby Macedo, Josh Erikson-Harris and Alex Miale placed first in the 400 free relay. The boys also did well at States, placing 4th. The school record for the 200 medley relay was broken by Toby Macedo, Zach Matthews, Josh Erikson-Harris and Nick Albaum.
