Night of the One-Acts
This year for the winter show, the Kennebunk High School Drama Club is putting on two student directed one act shows. The first show, All I Really Need To Know I Learned By Being In A Bad Murder Mystery, is about a troupe of actors as they attempt a murder mystery! Watch as these performers try to nail their accents, figure out their characters, and learn how to die onstage. Would the director and stage manager try to murder someone during the murder mystery? Come to the show and find out! About her show, director Erin McNeilly said: “[The actors] really took the vision of the show and elevated it past anything I could’ve imagined. I love each and every one of them for taking these shows, adding their personalities and making it their own.”
The next show, Stage Parents, follows Ms. Robin’s production of Medea while she tries to fend off the students’ helicopter parents, parents who think they’re directors, parents who can’t stop recording, and the crazy parents of the concession stand. Enjoy as these parents get their share of the spotlight in this fun comedy. On her experience throughout the rehearsal process, actor Isabella Donnery said: “Being in two shows at once has been chaotic at times, but it has been really fulfilling to see it all come together.”
Anyone can come and see these comedic shows! Tickets are at the door for $8. The shows will be performed on February 16th, 17th, and 18th at 7pm and on February 19th at 2pm. One of these wonderful shows will be featured at the Maine Drama Festivals One Act competition! Come watch to find out more!
