The club, Model UN, is a simulation of a United Nations Conference where students roleplay as UN participants and work on contemporary global issues.
Model UN entails attending conferences– one at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge and the Global Citizens Conference in New York City. Delegates collaborate with students from around the U.S. and the world.
The process helps with critical thinking and public speaking skills. Students learn about important world issues, and the workings of the United Nations.
This year, Model UN will be returning to conferences at MIT in February and New York in the spring.
Model UN is looking for students who will make a weekly commitment to practice and prepare for conferences. We meet on Mondays at 2:15 in Mr. French’s room, C127.
