New Assistant Principal: Mr. Sullivan

Jason Sullivan recently joined the KHS administration team this year after leaving his assistant principal position at Noble High School. Mr. Sullivan was involved with the Noble school district for 21 years before coming to KHS. When asked about the major differences between Noble High School and Kennebunk High School, Mr. Sullivan said that the biggest difference is that Noble High School has a higher number of students and faculty than Kennebunk High School. Mr. Sullivan said that he is really liking KHS so far. He says that he likes being at a smaller school, thinks that the kids and staff are great, and is very excited to be here.

When asked why he decided to apply for the assistant principal position, Mr. Sullivan responded by telling me that he wasn’t looking to move until he saw that there was an opening at KHS. He said that this was the only school that he wanted to work for because of our great reputation and convenient location. When asked if it was a hard decision leaving Noble after being there for so long he answered, “yes, change is hard, but it can lead to new possibilities, and new learnings.” Mr. Sullivan was a little anxious about leaving behind the relationships he made at Noble, but has been very impressed with how KHS has accepted him and loves the students and faculty here. The final question that I asked Mr. Sullivan was if there was anything new or different that he would like to bring to KHS. He said that he is still learning, observing, and asking questions but if it were necessary to make a change then he would talk to faculty and students first. Mr Sullivan’s highest priority is making sure kids are doing what they are supposed to be doing and being safe. Mr. Sullivan loves working at Kennebunk High School and, in my opinion, he will be a great addition to the KHS administration team.
