Background:
Released on October 6th of 2023, For All the Dogs is Drake’s eighth studio album. This release has a large array of features, such as Chief Keef, Bad Bunny, Lil Yachty, and more. It has 23 songs and a runtime of 1 hour and 24 minutes.
Garrett’s Thoughts:
Clocking in at an appalling 23 tracks, Drake’s eighth solo project makes subpar use of its hour and a half runtime. Drake treads familiar waters in the form of breakups, love, and fame. Also, was nobody there to tell Drake that the Spanglish verse on Gently (feat. Bad Bunny) wasn’t a good idea? One has to wonder after listening to this album: Can the 36 years-young superstar still put the hip in Hip-Hop?
Brian’s Thoughts:
I didn’t really like this album, it ended up sounding very uninspired and lacking in the flair of Drake’s previous releases. I really liked IDGAF (feat. Yeat), though Yeat carried most of the song, but it was still good. Drake is overall a great artist but this album just wasn’t my favorite.
Best songs: Fear Of Heights, IDGAF (feat. Yeat), Screw The World – Interlude, First Person Shooter (feat. J. Cole)
Worst songs: Slime You Out (feat. SZA), Members Only (feat. PARTYNEXTDOOR), Gently (feat. Bad Bunny), Rich Baby Daddy (feat. Sexyy Red & SZA)
Rating: 5/10
