Mrs. Stowell
by Belle White
Mrs. Stowell is a new teacher to KHS, though she was originally a teacher for Noble High School. She teachers the Gulf of Maine UNE class, as well as CP Environmental Science and Intro to Physics. She came to KHS to join her family, as many of her family members already work in the Kennebunk school district. She is excited to teach new students and explore a new community, as well as enjoy her favorite sandwiches at the New Morning Deli. Her hobbies include cross country and track, as well as hiking and gardening. It was the love of the outdoors which really drew her to study the sciences, especially environmental science. Recently, she has been fascinated with Cicada Bees, which are abnormally large bees. She found this out while she was coaching her track team over the summer, as these bees had completely taken over the track! They are docile, and have become quite interesting to her, despite their scary looks!
Welcome to KHS Mrs. Stowell, we are thankful you chose to come to our school!
Ms. P
by Isabella Donnery
Ms. Pasquarello (or Ms. P) is one of Kennebunk’s new ed techs. She is originally from China and relocated to Maine in 2011 after living in Sydney, Australia, for a decade. She worked at Thornton Academy for 7 years in their international program, where she acted as the residential life advisor. Ms. Pasquarello’s step children attended KHS and she lives in the area. Ms. P loves to read, hike, and bike, and is excited to work at Kennebunk!
Welcome Ms. P!
Madame Dubois
by Evan Mills
We welcome Madame Dubois to the KHS family! She’s been teaching for 24 years, mainly at Presque Isle High School and Caribou Middle School. Madame Dubois is teaching French, and says that it’s the language she grew up around, being Acadian, and stays in touch with the language in order to continue talking to her grandmother. She is moving back to Maine from Colorado and looks forward to seeing her daughter often, as well as spoiling her grandkids. Madame Dubois loves kayaking, cross country skiing, reading, and spending time with family. The biggest adjustment to being at Kennebunk for her is getting to know the students, because, comparatively, the class sizes are much larger than at her previous schools. Her favorite memory while teaching at Presque Isle was when her students threw her a going away party for her last class. She also loved receiving senior photos and graduation cards from students. Mme. Dubois is excited to see what lies ahead, and is looking forward to a bright future here at KHS.
Mr. Weafer
by Lily Bellanger
We welcome Mr. Weafer as one of our new assistant principals, at Kennebunk High School. He’s an alumnus of both Brunswick High School and Bowdoin College. Prior to joining as a member of the KHS staff, he was an English teacher at Bangor High School, as well as Lake Region High School. The last couple of years he’s been in education consulting, aiding teachers, but he had wanted to move into a role where he could work with students on a daily basis. Previously, he had worked with school leaders, however he wanted to move into a leadership role himself, eventually to become principal. He chose Kennebunk High School because of the school’s reputation, and the prestige that Kennebunk carries. A fun fact about Mr. Weafer is that he has been licked by a moose before. He also shared at the meeting with the classes that he has been hit by a truck as well. He’s excited to see what Kennebunk has to offer, and looks forward to getting to know the students.
We’re looking forward to a bright future with our new school leadership, Mr. Weafer.
Ms. Murray
by Belle White
Ms. Murray has been a teacher at KHS for 11 years, though this year she has switched from being an special education resource teacher, to a special education transition teacher. She changed roles to learn new material surrounding the transition planner job, as the state legislature has greatly changed what is expected of transition planners. She had been a resource room teacher for the past 10 years, and so she wanted a new challenge that she could learn new information about!
She plans meetings, helps students transition into college and their later life plans. This includes helping them sign up for dual enrollment classes, getting students college accessibility services and more! She also facilitates community outings, is an adult life skills instructor, preps students for vocational school interviews and a large variety of other jobs that are crucial for developing a school where its students are ready for the outside world! Her favorite part of KHS is the energy that the students bring! Her coworkers also are awesome, as she said herself. (Wow, that’s a mouthful!)
Her hobbies are painting, reading and cooking, as well as skiing and boating! When she’s able to, she enjoys doing yoga! She also loves to foster from Lucky Pup Rescue and AWS. But she also has two dogs of her own, Stella, a 11-year-old Rat Terrier-Chihuahua mix and Oliver, a 6 year old rat terrier-chihuahua-yorkie-schnauzer mix.
She is excited to create a new transition program to KHS that provides a better experience to her students! We wish you well Ms. Murray!

Ms. Shirley
by Emilia Ilyas
Ms. Shirley is a new resource room teacher at KHS this year, and, so far, she has loved
her new position. She moved to Kennebunk one year ago from South Florida, and she started her RSU 21 journey at M.L.D as a first grade teacher. Before she lived in Florida, she was born and raised in Jamaica, and her biggest culture shock was how infrequently people use their car horns, especially when standing at a traffic light for too long.
Ms. Shirley’s favorite part of KHS has been getting to know all of her students and coworkers. She described that her favorite part of teaching was “seeing when the light bulb goes off” inside her students’ heads— the moment when confusion becomes clarity.
Kennebunk was appealing to Ms. Shirley because of the beautiful environment, and she loves how polite and welcoming the people here are. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters and going on new adventures with them. She knows that her time at KHS will be an adventure of her own.
Ms. Phelan
by Molly McKinney
Ms. Phelan is a math teacher and JV volleyball coach at KHS. She teaches Geometry, Algebra 2, and Precalculus. Ms. Phelan has lived in both Idaho and Vermont and is enjoying Kennebunk. She says that the school has been very welcoming to her and coaching volleyball has been fun. She teaches math in hopes her students will put in maximum effort and “see the beauty in math.” Her teacher pet peeve is when students do not show their work, and when their papers get crushed at the bottom of their backpacks. As a student, Ms.Phelan was very involved in theater and athletics and also worked very hard academically. Her goal for her students is to take failure as an opportunity to learn, and that pushing yourself to try new things will help you grow. Her biggest challenge as a teacher is making sure all of the content is accessible for her students, and getting them to see the beauty in math. She is looking forward to this school year and the volleyball season.
Mr. Fusco
by Eva MacDonald
Mr. Fusco is an Athletic Trainer at KHS who has also recently taken on the role of full time health teacher. In his new role, Mr. Fusco looks forward to building meaningful connections with students. He chose to become a health teacher to help students make healthy choices and live a positive lifestyle, and he feels it’s beneficial for his athletes to see him from another perspective. Mr. Fusco has been thinking about getting back into the classroom again since teaching an Introduction to Sports Medicine class at Noble High School. A fun fact Mr. Fusco shared is that he has his own professional baseball card. In his free time, Mr. Fusco enjoys being with family and walking his dog on the beach. He also likes to be active by going on hikes and runs, as well as kayaking and paddleboarding.
Thank you for another great year, Mr. Fusco!
