Teacher of the Week: Mr. Watson

For this week’s teacher of the week, Mr. Watson has agreed to tell me a bit about himself. Watson is a history teacher at KHS, who teaches history and economics. Mr. Watson’s first job was at Bucknell’s Strawberry farm. While there, he parked cars and weighed Strawberries. Mr. Watson grew up in Denmark, on the outskirts of Fryeburg, Maine. This is where he attended high school. Watson went to college at the University of Maine at Farmington where he studied secondary education, social sciences, and a concentration in political science. Watson’s favorite part about KHS is the students, but his least favorite part is late start Wednesdays and faculty meetings. When asked about his kids, Watson said, “I have two that I know of. My daughter is a junior, and my son is in sixth grade.” Watson is the JV golf coach at KHS, and when asked about the team he said, “I like it. The weather is pleasant, the kids are nice, the course is beautiful, and Mr. Moody is a great guy to work with.” If Watson had to pick the academic course he enjoyed teaching the most (between History and Economics), he said, “I can anticipate every question asked in History. Economics is a newer course for me, and it’s more of a challenge. I am surprised by questions, which isn’t the case in other courses.” Mr. Watson was asked to share a pun with the school, but he said, “I wouldn’t want to RAMble on.” If you are interested in becoming the next student of the week, email us at [email protected]!
