Welcome to The Sunny Side, a little bit of some sunnier news to brighten a darkening world! I am Estelle Ingwersen, and I am happy, as always, to have you here.
As many of you may know by now, the theater department here at KHS won first at the Regional level One Act Competition for our show, Antigone in Munich. Alongside this victory, Cavin Eon, Adrianne Parent, and I won All-Festival cast. These acting awards were accompanied by a set award for the building team and then again by a sound award at the State level.
This is remarkable from the theater department, as we have not progressed to States in a very long time.
In case you missed it, Antigone in Munich is set in ww2 and follows a group of students working together to distribute revolutionary leaflets under the White Rose Society. They work together over the course of the show, battling fear and the need for change.
We did not win at States, but the cast and crew were grateful enough to be able to participate in the competition and share this show with our community. With all the love, time, and effort we put into the show, we were simply overjoyed to share it again.
Thank you for tuning into The Sunny Side and I will see you next issue!
